WhenI turn the car on and climate control starts to work, I hear a faint clicking or clunking noise in the dash board. Sounds like it's coming from the center. I don't think you will see the clutch plate cycle in and out .These late VW/audi models run a clutchless compressor,the electronic variable suction valve within the pump is controlled from the engine ECU.Yes ,could be a software bug.
