One year and many promises from EA later, we arrive at Need for Speed Underground 2. An obviously much deeper game from the start, the game only improves over time. A few hitches do slow down the fun but in the end, its a truly satisfying game.
Released in 2004, it is the direct sequel to Need for Speed: Underground, and is part of the Need for Speed series, available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. Like its predecessor, it was also commercially successful, and sold four million copies worldwide.
BOTTOM LINE: Need for Speed Underground 2 is a great game that fans of the original and street racing fans in general will want to pick up. However, this game doesn't execute itself with the finesse and ambition of the original, making it feel overall drab. DEFINITELY worth a rental, most will probably buy it.
